Bio
Dr. William Pao is an oncologist and CEO and co-founder of Revelio Therapeutics Inc. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer of Pfizer, head of Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) at Roche, and professor of medicine at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In these roles, he oversaw the discovery and development of numerous new molecular entities, many of which have been approved to treat a variety of diseases including various cancers.
Throughout his career, William has advised numerous professional associations, served on the editorial boards of prestigious medical research journals, and received multiple awards and recognitions.
William studied at Harvard University alongside Susan Wojcicki, earned his MD and PhD degrees in biology from Yale University, and did his residency training at Weill Cornell Medical School. During his postdoctoral fellowship with Harold Varmus at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, he performed pivotal research on the tyrosine kinase of the epidermal growth factor receptor gene in lung cancer. Subsequently, his lab contributed to the development of many new targeted therapies for lung cancers.
